Welcome to Busan

meal before busan!

.
.

Day 1:

Arrived at Busan. Checked in to the Oz Inn Guest house. I think it's very convenient over here. There's like food that open till late night and Haeundae subway is just 5 minutes away. Woohoo. No need to drag heavy ass luggage for a distance! Haeundae area is a highly recommended place to stay in!

Really really very grateful for their services as a solo traveler and also being in busan for the very first time. They were really thoughtful and helpful! A big thank you for that! After my long bus trip to Busan, settled down in my motel - it's finally time for food!! The really bad thing about traveling alone in korea is eating (to me) - everything comes in a pretty big portion and a small eater like me will really make them go into waste but having no other options and not wanting to eat convenient store's food all the time. I have to just select wisely... The streets outside my motel is amazing because it's filled with one whole stretch of fooooooood!!!!! After which, headed to Haeundae beach which is super near from my motel so.. beach stroll after dinner, why not?!

So happening on the beach!! There's street performance which you can see in singapore at streets of orchard but here it's on the beach. Also, buskers and not forgetting lots of tourists and camera's light flashing! Hang and walk around the area for 2 hours and so and it's time to hit the sack.

Begin my day 2 in Busan at Gukje Market. (Jagalchi Station (Busan Subway Line 1), Exit 7.) It's pretty confusing there so my actual itinerary was Gukje Market, Gukje Youth Market, BIFF Square but you can get lost as and when so i just head wherever my leg takes me to - lol.

Next up - Haedong Yonggungsa Temple!

Day 3:

Finally my chinggu able to take his time off to come drive me around busan to eat locally delicious food and yay to no subway travelling!!!!  So it's Gamcheon Village and Taejongdae Recreation Area for day 3!

There there, 3 days 2 nights in Busan. Daebak!!!

Colouring their life in Busan Gamcheon Culture Village (부산 감천문화마을)

Indeed its a spectacular sight. I was so hype for this place from the very start and boy it didn't disappoint me sad thing is I only manage to explore a tiny part of the village as its really huge and stupid Charlie is rushing for time to lunch.. But no fret because I'll definitely be back!!!!!!!!!

It's really simple going there by shuttle bus just have to find the correct exit and it's free (I think) because I'm the only dumb ass that tap her card and the screen shows '0' (no money deducted). Like oooohhhh ok sure free even better #sgblood

Getting there:

Take subway to Toseng (Line 1, Exit 6) Of course, double check the signboards.

Sometimes they signboard can be rather complicated but most of the time it should be in layman terms. Exit , go straight, bearing right.

Walk all the way straight till Busan Cancer Center is in sight. The bustop is just right infront but if I'm not mistaken, there's one bustop and the other on is a shuttle bus sign. Didn't manage to take a picture as I was fluttering with my hands full.

Or you can just see the bus with the Gamcheon Village sign, onboard!!

I'll be back to explore deeper depth of Gamcheon, till next time!

There's nothing like the beauty of nature next to a holy place. Memorizing! Lucky or not I've yet decide; I visited during the time when it was the Buddha's birthday in three days time. So there were lots of lanterns and extra decoration just to celebrate the buddha's birthday and it look reallllllly beautiful. The down side of that was.. THE CROWD WAS BIT HECTIC I THINK? Temple is suppose to be quiet and like zen but the crowd just took it away and i have to join the mad queue just to get inside the temple. Thankfully I met Jane and Teresa from America and they were kind enough to drag me along with them so I don't have to queue right from the back and trust me it's crazy.

Jane and Teresa from America!!!

How to get to Haedong Yonggungsa Temple:
Thankfully for Charlie's suggestion, i choose to stay around the area of Haeundae and boy it was a good choice as food and shops are just around the corner and not forgetting, Haeundae Beach. (insert heart shapes)

Take the subway to Haeundae Staton (Line 2) and take exit 7. Once exiting exit 7 you will see yourself looking at the bustop just right up front. Take only bus 101 and it's about 15 - 20minutes bus ride? love the ride as it's really filled with local feels and most importantly it's cheaaaaap!

subway T-Card can be use on buses as well and it's cheaper too
Not forgetting the pretty views, ahhh. Looks like sg HDB though, lol.

 .
.

Spot this pretty roundabout and you can start to observe your surround as the temple it's just around the area. You can also see the brown board sign saying "Haedong Yonggungsa Temple"

It easier than I expected as I was worried about where to stop if I took a bus but hey! It's written up there like which stop is it and etc and you'll see passengers with camera and shit so just follow them (the locals, mostly). If still not really sure, use your gps on your phone and you will roughly know how long more to the destination either that just sit next to the bus driver and let them tell you where to stop.

Upon alighting the bus, turn right and walk all the way straight and you will see a huge rock with the temple's name written on it. Walk up towards the sign and keep walking up hill, yes a mini hill but weather was good so it's fine lulllll.

 Almost there...

180m more...

WELCOME TO HAEDONG YONGGUNGSA TEMPLE!!!!!

Breath-taking aint it?!

Wouldn't mind coming here once more with a different mood and of course the next time not a solo trip!

The best way to end your evening.. xxx
Yes it's bus to Busan not train.

It's my first time to Korea and going solo again for the second time. Excited af but at the same time nervous cos it's a real big city we're looking at here. Have been worried about my transportation to Busan from the day I've been planning my trip. Thankfully I came across this website while doing all my research.

http://www.kobus.co.kr/web/eng/index.jsp

Yay to English!!!! But then again, I was struggling with the choice of taking bus or KTX hence I didn't book online. It's a 4hours and 15mins ride for bus and there's normal buses and express buses. Normal buses cost 23,000won and express buses cost 34,200won. Difference? Only the room space and seat quality. Normal buses are just like any buses in town. Duration is still the same.

Normal buses.

Express bus - 34, 200 won. Normal bus - 23, 000 won

KTX wise, it's definetely faster spacious and comfortable. Just a two hours ride and it cost around 70,000won the last time I checked. As I was on a budget and refuse to spend so much on transportation, I've decided to take the bus instead; it's cheap, and I love long road journeys so win-win!

How to take the bus from Seoul:
Take the subway to Express Bus Terminal (line 3, take exit 1) come up of the escalator turn right and follow the gyeongbu line. It's actually all the way at the end near Starbucks. Exit 2 is fine but I'm just not sure how to maneuver from exit two, I'm guessing it's about the same just following gyeongbu line? But I didn't wanna take the risk as I'm carrying a pretty heavy load. Busan bound tickets are at Ticket Office 1.

The platform to the buses (to busan) are normally 1 or 2 according to the information counter.

Bus schedules can be checked on the English website of the bus company but I overslept and it was 9.15 when I reached Express Bus Terminal and I the 9.20am tickets are all sold out :( Next available timing for normal buses is at 2.20pm. Pretty ridiculous timing to wait so I've decided to get the express bus ticket instead at 11.40am. After two hours of ride, there's a super short break like 10 - 15 minutes? It's just like going to Genting from SG. You can get some quick bites and of course toilet breaks!

Left with another 2 more hours! Slept my way through and.....

HELLO BUSAN!!!

Once alight just walk straight up towards the escalator, it's really very easy. Coming back is exactly the same, just back track every steps!

It's really advisable to get returning tickets back to seoul once you arrived at Busan so you can plan your journey properly and don't have to rush and afraid that you can't get a seat at your preferred timing.

And there i have it, not train but bus to Busan!
